What to do

Ty'r Afon is in the Snowdonia National Park. There is much to do and see within a short travelling distance.

Routes for local walks can be provided.

Canolfan Tryweryn is 2 minutes away for white water rafting and kayaking.

Llyn Tegid - Bala Lake - provides sailing and surf boarding.  Courses are run by Bala Water Sports.

There are many narrow gauge railways in the area - timetables provided - and the full gauge Llangollen to Corwen steams along the Dee Valley.

Fishing on local waters through Bala Angling Club.  Coaching can be arranged.

Cycling  - mountain biking at Coed y Brennin and Llandegla.  Along the Mawddach Trail and around Lake Vyrnwy.  Bike hire from Bala, Dolgellau and various centres.

Zip World, Zipt Forest and Surf Centre are within easy reach.

North Wales has many gardens worth visiting, especially

Erddig, Powys Castle and Bodnant - National Trust

Pas Tan y Bwlch - Snowdonia National Park Centre.
